We’re excited to introduce Joshua Peacock, our Summer Law Clerk at Vann Attorneys.

Joshua grew up outside of Denton, North Carolina, in a rural community where his family raised chickens and cattle on a dirt road in the country. Before pursuing a legal career, Joshua spent nearly a decade working as a welder-fabricator for Kaufman Trailers. During that time, he built a life with his wife and their two daughters while working full-time and earning his bachelor’s degree in Law & Policy from Liberty University.

Inspired by the impact attorneys can have on individuals and communities, Joshua made the decision to pursue law school at Campbell University School of Law, where he is now entering his final year. Along the way, he has already built an impressive resume of public service and legal experience. Joshua was honored as the North Carolina Bar Association’s 2025 Open Door Fellow and has worked with the General Counsel of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority, the General Counsel of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and most recently with the Supreme Court of North Carolina in Chief Justice Newby’s chambers.

One experience especially meaningful to Joshua has been serving in a leadership role with Campbell Law’s Pro Bono Expunction Project, helping individuals seek second chances through the expunction process. His commitment to listening carefully, understanding people’s needs, and approaching challenges thoughtfully reflects the values we strive to uphold at Vann Attorneys.

Joshua describes himself as a first-generation law student and encourages others entering the legal profession to believe in themselves and continue working hard, even through moments of doubt. His work ethic, humility, and dedication to serving others make him a great addition to our team this summer.

Outside of law school and work, Joshua enjoys spending time with his family, going to the lake, riding bikes, working out, and reading authors like Robert Pirsig and Wendell Berry.
