James and his family are active in life of their church. He has served in various roles including as a Deacon, former Chair of the Diaconate, Student Sunday School Teacher, Men’s Monday Night Bible Study Facilitator, and other areas of service.

James has been involved in the YMCA of the Triangle since 1992 and has been an active leader and former Chair of the “We Build People” campaign which raises money to assist children and families in attending camps, learning opportunities and other activities within the YMCA. James currently has the privilege of serving as the Past Chair of the Alexander Family YMCA Board of Advisors. He serves on Christian Leadership Committee for the Triangle YMCA and other volunteer committees.

James is active with the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Raleigh, former Chair of Leadership Raleigh 24 and Former Chair of Leadership Raleigh Alumni. He has served as the Co-Chair for the Small Business Section of the Chamber. He also has served on their Board of Directors for the Raleigh Chamber. James was fortunate to “marry-up” when he met Laura. James and his wife have two fantastic children who they love dearly!
